Robert Kirbyson
Robert Kirbyson is an award-winning producer, director, and cinematographer,
as well as a University Educator. He currently has two feature films in
development which he has written and will direct -- with the first scheduled
to shoot this winter. His writing and directing credits include several
short films that have garnered more than twenty awards & nominations.
He also directed the holiday movie, THE CHRISTMAS ORANGE, for Canadian
national broadcast, and four seasons of the CBC series, IT'S A LIVING,
for which he won several international awards. Previously, he produced
segments for seven seasons of Sesame Street. Robert also has an extensive
background in cinematography and for seven years taught Advanced Cinematography
at his alma mater, the University of British Columbia Film School, where
he had won the award for “Top Graduate” in 1995. Robert was
born in Edmonton, Alberta, but grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In January
2005 Robert relocated to Los Angeles with his wife Catherine, who is also
a veteran of film and television production in Vancouver.
